NYX: Lipstick Lowdown

I have seen sooooo many people writing all about NYX and their fab products, so I thought it was time I put some of their lip products to the test myself. I bought Pink Lust which is part of the Liquid Suede range from Boots in Manchester but I have never actually put it to the test. I could not decide what other formulas to choose as there are three different types so I decided to order one of each and put them all to the test. I started doing a bit of research and approximately two hours later, having read a tonne of blog posts and watched a few YouTube videos on the best shades, I checked out on Boot's online. I have been putting these to the test for a month now, and I am ready to reveal the hits and misses of what I bought.

My first one to put to the test was the Butter Gloss in Creme Brûlée, Kathleen Lights totally convinced me to buy this as she always has great advice and shade choice. This is the most wearable of the bunch, and I really like it. It is a shiny pinky nude, a kind of my lips but better shade. I have been wearing this on its own to add a quick shine to my lips, and also over the top of lipsticks like Mac's Please Me and Mehr. It is comfortable to wear and not too sticky, and adds a beautiful overall glossy, plumped look to the lips. I love love love this and I featured it in this month's February Favourites post. I am definitely going to pick up a few more as they are great value for just £5.

The Intense Butter Glosses are suppose to be a step up from the original Butter Glosses, and I was intrigued to see the difference. I really love the shade in which I choose which is a bright pink called Funnel Delight. I was a little bit disappointed, as I didn't really notice too much difference between this and the normal Butter Glosses, and the shade range isn't as good. I still like it though and it is still comfortable to wear on the lips.

The shade Prague from the Soft Matte Lip Cream line is a really beautiful colour, it is an amazing dark berry shade. It suits my skin tone really well, and adds a really lovely pop of colour to my lips. These are really beautifully pigmented, and I am totally in love with this shade. I put this to the test and it lasted for a good five hours before I ate my lunch, and then it had pretty much disappeared which is disappointing. However, it is really simple to reapply so it doesn't take long to touch up. They are super comfortable to wear and aren't too drying once they set, unlike many of the other matte lip creams on the market. These are a great find, and for the price they are a brilliant drugstore buy.

The Liquid Suede range is differently the most long lasting of the bunch, and after swatching it I had to physically scrub it off. The shades within the range are all super bright and the shade Pink Lust is differently not my usual everyday shade. However, if it a beautiful statement colour and looks lovely with a simple eye look. These dry to be the most mattest of the bunch, but they are still very comfortable to wear and you don't get any peeling or budging in particular areas on the lips.

All round, I am really impressed with all of these lip products from NYX. I love how much more easier it has become to get our hands on NYX, as they are now available online at Boot's, feelunique and Selfridge's. As I have been loving their products so much, I have since gone on to buy some more soft matte creams and a beautiful eyeshadow which you can see in my big haul post here.
