Olivia Burton Lace Detail Black and Gold Watch

This beautiful Olivia Burton lace detail black and gold watch was a present from my lovely big sister for Christmas. I had mentioned to her once or twice about wanting a watch from her line so much that she finally caved and bought me one. I think Olivia Burton has arrived on the scene with a bang, and good on her because my god are her designs beautiful.

I have been wearing this watch a lot since Christmas and I have had lots of compliments on it. I like the black leather strap as it definitely not what I would have chosen for myself, but it goes with every single outfit which I wear. The black dial face is a classic design and I love it in contrast to the gold detailing. As a whole I am more of a rose gold than a gold lover, but this has definitely added some variety to my jewellery. The stand out part of the watch and what I adore about it to most is the actual design of the watch face. The lace and the flowers intertwined is such a pretty combination, and I like that it is just around the bottom part of the watch. The size of the dial is 30mm which a perfect size for my arm, as I did not want anything too big or bulky.

The watch costs £78 which is I think it a very reasonable price as I think they have found their market with customers. The brand has created pieces which are delicate and she definitely has quite a classic girly feel to her jewellery which is honestly why I love it so much. I love pieces which are not too over the top, which are simple but have some details which finish the pieces off perfectly. She has recently launched a bee collection and I am simply obsessed with it. I recently treated myself to a bee a ring from the line as it is so beautiful.

Olivia Burton has definitely got my seal of approval with this watch and her simplistic designs. I know for sure I am going to be looking at her line when I want to expand my jewellery collection in anyway. She has a vast variety of watches out at the moment and there is definitely something for everyone.

Earrings for Autumn

I have been looking for some new 'going out' type of earrings for ages. A few weeks ago I bought some from New Look which were similar to these new black ones in the photo. However, I wore them to the Bloggers Blog Awards and the main part of the earrings were flower shaped and a majority of the jewels fell out, so I returned them as faulty and was back to square one.

Earlier this week, I went on a little shopping spree into Manchester as I really wanted some new earrings to wear this weekend for my friend's birthday. I have seen these black tassle ones (currently sold out online) which I purchased on lots of different Instagram's, and I love how they looked. Heads up though, they are selling these in H&M where I purchased them from for £8.99. However, Topshop have an almost identical pair but are charging £15. These must have sold well in H&M as they had them in at least eight different colours including navy, red, rose gold and white. I decided to go simple and pick up the black pair as they will go with any outfit. I think they will finish this weekend's outfit off perfectly.

I recently saw on Primark's Instastories that they were finally getting in some new earring styles. Primark are usually pretty on it with trends, but I feel like they have been a bit behind with this one as big out their earrings have been in since the start of the season. Anyway, they did not have anything to similar to the chandelier type (the name I have given them!), but they did have these two pairs which I picked up. The first pair are the white feather earrings, which also come in black. These were just £2.50, and I am definitely going to get a lot of wear out of these. The second pair I picked up are these daintier rose arrow plaited earrings. These were only £1.50, and I am very excited about wearing them as they are much more subtle. I am hoping that they add the finishing details and dress up different simple outfits.

I am very happy with my purchases and I already know that all three of these pairs are going to be worn frequently especially leading up to the festive period.

500 blog posts!

I cannot believe I have made it to 500 blog posts! Who would have thought that 4 years ago in September I started this blog. I had just moved into student accommodation, without any hobbies to do as I was in a new city. I am not sure who actually really inspired me to start up my blog, I do not think it was one blogger in particular. It was when Tanya Burr, Pixiwoo and Zoella were still very much into blogging daily before YouTube really took off. I was really interested in reading what they were reviewing and had to share. I have always had an interest in makeup and beauty on the whole. I thought this was a new way for me to discover and delve a little more into my interests.

I thought when I started that in order to blog you had to do it on a daily basis. For weeks, even months when I first started my blog I did it everyday. I remember rushing home from uni to take photos on my wooden table for the next day. I loved it. It took a bit of a toll so I went down to doing every other day. I was loving it, I had found a new passion for something which I was loving. Fast forward to now, and I blog three times a week. Sometimes I struggle to get three a week written, but I always feel a massive accomplishment when I see them scheduled and all my social media in order alongside it. A few months ago, I lost my mojo big time for blogging, and I was seriously considering taking a long break or even packing it all in for good. Thankfully, I am currently loving blogging again, which I am super happy about.

I can't even begin to think about the amount of hours I have dedicated to this blog. For one, it definitely isn't for money because I have made zero pence. To me this is a hobby. My job is where I earn my living, and I like the definite difference between the two. I enjoy spending my spare time blogging. I think you should never feel forced to blog, you do you.

I am seriously excited that I have made it to 500 blog posts. I think this is a pretty big achievement. I hope I am sat here in another four years time reviewing writing 1,000 blog posts. In four years time I know my life will be very different, and that is so exciting thinking about what I will be writing about. My blog is mainly beauty focused, but definitely within the last year I have really gotten into writing lifestyle posts. I have enjoyed putting up on my blog topics which are important to me, and allowing to spark discussions with other bloggers. I think that is the best thing about blogging, you can write about whatever you want and there is no one to tell you otherwise.

Here's to many more!

Topshop Stud Heels

Topshop has done it again. For my birthday I wanted to treat myself to some new shoes. I was not sure what type of shoe or style that I wanted. The only thing I did know is that I have been missing a pair of shoes that fall into the heel and sandal category. I wanted something without a huge heel, which I could wear day and night. I have been longing after a pair that fitted into the day time drinking category, or a meal out where you will be wearing them for hours and therefore being comfy is a must.

The shoes which fitted into everything which I wanted was the Morocco stud two-part sandal from Topshop. I am always scared to look on the bottom of Topshop shoes as the prices are either affordable or expensive. I feel like they are either £30 or £60 and more, there is never anything in the middle. Thankfully, the price tag of £32 put a beaming smile on my face. I always size up in Topshop heels as I think they come up quite small. I was wearing these the night I bought them for my birthday night out, so I did not have the breaking in option. I have to say I had zero problems with these, they were so comfy, and I always find the thickness of the heels helps with the comfort factor.

These were not the kind of shoe which I would be naturally be drawn to. I thought the studs were just enough and added the perfect detailing. I usually wear gold details on my heels, but it was nice to mix it up and buy silver for once. It has definitely added some variety to my shoe collection. Whilst finding the link for this post, I found out that they do these in baby pink and boy are they gorgeous. In the Topshop store which I bought the black version from, they had them in grey and they were also beautiful. Topshop has done a fabulous job with these, and I have got so many occasions coming up where I have thought they will be perfect for my outfit. I was also the bad blogger with this post, as I had to take my photos after the night out, I tried my best to keep them nice and looking new, but I don't think I succeeded!

Go grab yourself a pair!

Gucci Marmont Purse

I am finally revealing my first ever Gucci purchase and boy am I excited. A few weeks ago, I took the plunge and literally bought the purse of my dreams. As corny as it sounds, I fell head over heels with everything about it. I first saw it around January time and for a good 4 months, every time I went into Selfridges I would long fully stare at it. This was my first big treat to myself since qualifying last September. If you have read my blog for a while, you will know it takes a lot for my to part with my cash, as big purchases are something I have to think long and hard about and I definitely did with this.

The purse in all of its glory to me speaks for itself. I love it. It is called the Gucci marmont leather french flap wallet and costs £300. Pink has been my absolute favourite colour since a child, and has been ever since. For weeks I was trying to convince myself to get the black, as it is a more functional and versatile colour. However, I came to the conclusion if I was spending such a vast amount of money, I wanted it to be my perfect purse so I simply had to go with my heart and that was with choosing the pink. I wanted a purse that was smaller than what I have at the moment, but would fit it all my coins, notes and cards in with ease and without having to seriously having to downsize the contents. Inside there is plenty of room for cards, there is a notes slot, and at the front of the purse is a section with a snap closure for coins. I love the classic GG design on the front, it is why I went for this exact style. The gold hardware complements the pink beautifully. It is nothing to big or in your face, and that is exactly what I intended to buy.

I have loved the entire Gucci Marmont collection, and some of their bags are simply stunning. You have to be realistic though, and I know I will get my moneys worth out of this purse. I seriously struggled to get my hands on this, and the sales assistant in Selfridge's told me the entire collection has been a huge hit, and they only get a few of each product in. I ordered this from Gucci online and I was super happy with the service. When it arrived I was so smiley, and as silly as it sounds I felt a little overwhelmed. I felt as though I had really worked hard for it, and this was just a little present to myself.

I love this, will treasure it, and will definitely take good care of it. As you can probably tell I am treating this purse as my baby!

ASOS floral embroidered shoulder bag

I was recently browsing the lovely Hannah Gale's Instagram which I do must days, and I stumbled across this amazing ASOS floral embroidered shoulder bag. I was so happy to see that it costs just £30 as I thought it was definitely from an upmarket designer and it was going to be cost a lot more money due to all of its fabulous features. I instantly ordered it and sent a picture to my friends group text and they all gave it the seal of approval.

I am still in the stages of debating over which Gucci bag to buy which means I am scrolling through their website daily, and they have very recently dropped their brand new line called the Sylvie collection. It is full of beautiful embroidery and bright, colourful designs and this definitely seems to have some influences from that line. I have ASOS premier so I was super excited when this arrived on my doorstep the next day, but unfortunately my first one had a big dirty mark on the front. I sent it back and instantly ordered a new one as I wanted to take it on my holidays. My second one was in perfect condition and I was super impressed as to how big it was inside, you can definitely use this as your everyday bag. On my trip to Prague I used this regularly and I managed to fit in all the essentials - phone, purse, sunglasses, guide book and lip balm.

I think the bright pink shade is beautiful and perfect for the spring/summer, and the embroidered detail is really eye catching. A brilliant feature is the big, thick gold chain detailed handle. It makes the bag very sturdy and there is no way that it is going to come off anytime soon. The thickness and length of the chain makes it super comfortable to sit on your shoulder, I hate it when shorter chains don't fit snug on your shoulder and it is bundled up when you have outer layers on.

I have found that there has been a few loose threads that have appeared around the outside skirting of the bag. This was a little bit annoying as they came from no where, and it happened after only a few days. I cut them off easily, so it is not much of a hassle but still it shouldn't really be happening. I have also noticed that this can get scratched very easily due to the outer material of the bag being quite delicate. I have just tried to keep it away from anything which can cause it to dint/ scratch if possible.

I have worn this bag during the day and I wore it to a night do of a wedding and I love that it has that versatility. It is definitely going to get its good use over the next few months, as I love how you can just throw it on with most outfits and it will instantly add some colour and vibrancy to your look.

Tips for a sample sale

I went to my first ever fashion sample sale by Missguided recently, and I thought I would give you the down low on how it went and my tips as to how to get the best out of the experience.

1. Do a lot of research. Dig a little deeper into the details so you know where and when, and also how much they are selling things for so you can kind of set a budget.

2. Look in your wardrobe before you go to see if there is anything which you particularly need, just so you have some ideas in your mind before you go.

3. If you can take a friend - do. This is easier said than done as this was on a Wednesday and all of my friends work in 9-5 Monday - Friday jobs so I went alone. I was actually scared to go alone, but there was so many other girls there on their own once I got there. I just think taking a friend will help you make more clear decision and will give an honest opinion. Although on the contrary, a friend could possibly encourage you to spend and buy more than you need as you are caught up in the excitement.

4. Get there for when it starts. I had every intention for getting there on time, however I got a little bit lost and ended up 30 mins late and was so annoyed at myself when I saw some of the other amazing pieces which other people already had in their hands.

5.  Have cash. From what I believe most sample sales will only take cash due the easiness of transactions, and also the one which I went to was donating all the money to charity. I took more than I needed as I didn't know how much I wanted to spend and I didn't want to be in the predicament of not having enough.

6. Once you have arrived there have a good rummage and look on all the rails. Pick up everything which you think you might like. Look on every rail and every table. It's going to be messy but there might be that one gem hiding underneath another item.

7. If you can try it on. Obviously as it is a sample sale nothing has sizes on. Tops and jumpers you can judge by just holding each item up, but dresses and jeans I really suggest you do try on even you pull them on over the top of your own clothes. At this point, it is probably good to add in to wear something appropriate. I wore a thick jumper which was not ideal at all. There was security guard who was saying we were not suppose to try on, but as long as they can see that you are not robbing anything then I don't see the problem. I am so glad I tried my chosen items on as some of the things I thought would fit just from looking at it did not. This is where having a friend to giving an opinion would help. There was no mirrors and I saw lots of people taking photos of each other so they could see exactly what each item looked like on.

8. I would then suggest having a second look around now that you have your selected items that you love. I found a few more must have pieces by going in for a second rummage and don't be frightened to get in there.

9.  I would then look at all things you are wanting to buy and make sure they will fit with things in your wardrobe, or you have an occasion to wear them. It is so easy just like in Primark to get sucked in and think it's only £5, but it adds up quickly and you don't want items to be sitting in your drawer gathering dust and it to end up in a charity bag the next time you do a clear out. Also, I suggest it this point you check out the garments for imperfections - holes, makeup stains, stitching errors.

10. Once you are sure that have all the items which you have (hopefully you've found some bargains!) head to the till. At this point I wouldn't suggest picking up or looking at anything else whilst you are waiting as you may make some misjudged decision and end up picking up on the whim. If this does happen I suggest trying on and make sure you actually want it.

I came away with 4 items a playsuit, skirt, shorts and a dress. When I tried the dress on at home I actually hated it, it fits but the style does not suit me at all. I do however love all of my other items. I hope you have found this post helpful, and please share any other tips which you may have.

Spring OOTD

I am finally bringing you another outfit of the day post, I love doing these but I unfortunately do not have the instagram husband nor the streets of London to take my photos. All in all, I really loved wearing this outfit. The shirt is from Topshop and it is unfortunately last season so it is no longer available. These ASOS jeans are a perfect fit all round and such a great length. I love the dark wash of colour of these as they are perfect for spring. The belt is from Primark and I bought it recently for just £1.50. I am killing to buy the Gucci double G belt, but I am struggling with parting with the £220. These was the first time I wore these Valentino rockstuds dupes which are from Primark. Now I am a girl who loves shoes, but I could never part the £600 plus to buy the proper pair. This version are just £13 and are still in stores now. They are super comfortable and the nude colour is perfect for Spring and leading into Summer.

Primark are nailing the trends

Last weekend I 'nipped' into the Primark in the Selfridges concession located at the Trafford Centre, and as always I did not come away empty handed. When the Primark was first put into Selfridges, there was a little controversy as it is obviously a lower end store with a different market to the high end brands which they sell. For me I love it, as it always has the creme de le creme pieces of the brand. It features all of their brand new stock which has just been brought out which they know are going to be bestsellers. It is a small concession which is slowly expanding as it is definitely doing well within the store as it is always so busy. It is set out nicely, not overcrowded and the staff are constantly tidy, unlike some Primark stores.

I was instantly stopped in my steps when I saw these nude Valentinos esque studded flats hanging on the display. To be honest I am surprised that they are allowed to bring these out as they are literally the exact same design. They have the same T-bar fastening, have pointed toes and have the same size and shaped studded detailed. However, these come with the added bonus of being £615 cheaper than the real version, as they are just £10. These also come in black and a brighter fuchsia pink. If you are interested they also come in the same styles and colours in the heeled version for £14.

The choker trend is huge at the moment and I am really into it. At the weekend I was shopping for a choker and was surprised at the prices in some other high street stores, some were £8-£10 which is a lot of money considering that some of them were very simple. Once again, Primark produces the goods and I picked up the big nude bow tie for £2, and the four variety pick for just £3. These types of fashion accessories for me personally are not worth investing a lot of money into, so I am super happy I managed to pick these up for such a great price. They had such a wide range of different chokers individually and in packs, it took me ages to decide what to pick.

All in all, Primark are definitely nailing the current trends in all shape and forms. This trip was a flying visit and I'll definitely be heading back to the store come payday to see what other gems I can find. If you are into the embroidery trend, they are all over that also! I would like to know if you enjoy reading this type of fashion haul, as I would love to do more. I definitely buy just as many clothing items as I do beauty!
